Meet our leaders

Stephen Saft

Chief Executive Officer

Steve Saft has been instrumental in building HealthDyne into the national provider of digital pharmacy distribution services. As CEO, he has oversight and management of all aspects of company operations, ensuring that HealthDyne is well positioned in the new era of medication therapy distribution through its emphasis on consumer technology and patient care. Steve originally joined WellDyne as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer. Leveraging 20+ years of executive leadership experience in pharmacy, healthcare services and payor IT solutions, he draws from a background in broad general management, strategic planning, operations, and financial management. Previously, Steve served as CFO for HealthPlan Holdings, CCS Medical, and Priority Healthcare Corporation, a Fortune 1000 company that distributed and managed biopharmaceutical therapies. He completed his Bachelor of Science and Master of Accounting degrees at the University of Florida.

Brian Laird


Brian Laird leads the vision and strategy for all aspects of HealthDyne, offering a seasoned perspective on value and value creation for our clients, including oversight for business and product development, acquisition integrations and growth planning. He draws from leadership expertise in aligning the perspectives of consumers, payers and providers while improving cost and quality. Brian served in multiple executive leadership roles since joining WellDyne in 2020 before taking the helm of HealthDyne as President. Previously, he was SVP of Strategy and Growth for Optum Specialty and Infusion Pharmacies and has held executive roles in long term care, community practice, specialty pharmacy, PBM and technology development. Brian earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, and a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy from the University of Florida.

Mark Miller

SVP, Sales

Mark Miller has 20+ years of experience collaborating with large, complex clients to craft and deliver pharmacy and medical solutions that address some of healthcare’s greatest challenges. Working with innovative organizations, Mark has developed insight into today’s transformational approaches in which flexible and forward-looking business solutions can thrive. In 2020, Mark joined the company to drive company growth and lead  the sales team for our outsourced pharmacy solutions. He worked closely with health plans, manufacturers, healthcare providers and specialized healthcare organizations to streamline business operations, improve clinical outcomes and achieve savings. Prior to joining the company, Mark was Area VP, Sales, at UnitedHealth Group and Regional VP at Anthem. Mark earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Central Connecticut State University.

Sarah Thomas

VP, Sales and Commercialization

Sarah Thomas brings a keen understanding of business priorities, patient needs and technical capabilities that clients need as she helps clients find solutions to their challenges and grow their businesses, scale efficiently and reach their growth goals. Sarah brings more than 12 years of experience developing, launching and selling complex and highly strategic pharmacy products. She previously led commercialization for the OptumRx commercial book of business, representing products in the market and bringing the voice of the customer into product development. Her entrepreneurial experience includes the launch of a technology start-up consulting firm that provided plan sponsors with aligned incentive healthcare benefits for their members. Sarah is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the College of St. Benedict, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Spanish. She is a member of the Women’s Health Leadership Trust.

David Skomo

Chief Operating Officer

Dave Skomo has a well-earned reputation for maximizing quality, satisfaction and efficiency to deliver exceptional results. As Chief Operating Officer, he focuses on performance and efficiency as he leads the day-to-day pharmacy operations at HealthDyne. Dave oversees mail order, central fill and specialty pharmacy services, PBM and pharmacy clinical teams, and product and partnership strategies. With more than 25 years of PBM and specialty pharmacy leadership experience, Dave understands the unique complexities of this industry and is adept at providing strategic solutions to the challenges within pharmacy operations to provide the very best patient care. Previously, Dave spent nearly two years at CastiaRx, first as SVP, PBM Operations and later as COO. Prior to that, he was SVP, Chief Pharmacy Officer for OptumRx pharmacy operations with operational leadership responsibility for the BriovaRx regional pharmacy locations across the US. Earlier in his career, Dave was instrumental in building the Thrift Drug and Eckerd specialty pharmacy which became part of CVS/PharmaCare. Dave earned his Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from Duquesne University. He is a licensed pharmacist in the State of Pennsylvania.

Chris Kouzios

Chief Technology Officer

A technology veteran with more than two decades in the healthcare business, Chris Kouzios is an experienced leader with a background in innovation, infrastructure and healthcare technology. He is responsible for leading the team that delivers technology solutions and infrastructure needed to support outsourced pharmacy services for our clients. Chris drives long-term value for clients by delivering flexible technology with full white-label capabilities, including digital consumer engagement technologies. Prior to joining WellDyne, Chris served as Chief Security Officer and VP of Technology at Optum, the health services platform of UnitedHealth Group. He has held senior IT roles at Insurance Auto Auctions, Masergy Communications and ForteRx, a Senticore Holdings Company. Chris earned a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, from Warren National University.

Rich Wipperfurth

Chief Commercial Officer

With 20 years in healthcare sales, account management, marketing and product leadership, Rich Wipperfurth knows what it takes to drive company growth, manage client relationships and deliver a superior customer experience. Rich recognizes that each client has unique needs and leads a team that brings fresh thinking and a creative mindset to solve client challenges. His national sales and account teams consistently craft innovative solutions that reduce pharmacy spend, lower risk, drive adherence and improve outcomes. Before joining the company, Rich was VP of Strategic Sales at OptumRx, and was part of the Catamaran acquisition. In past roles, he held key leadership positions at Innoviant, Express Scripts and UnitedHealth Group. Rich holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Gustavus Adolphus College.

Diane Fortunato

VP, Client Services

With 30+ years of pharmacy industry experience, Diane Fortunato leverages deep expertise in driving business operations and developing and leading high-performance teams. Diane leverages a deep understanding of client needs to deliver tailored guidance and solutions. She ensures the client voice is used to guide corporate priorities and program enhancements. In her role managing strategic accounts, she guides account managers and account executives as they analyze data, understand challenges and deliver outcomes that exceed client expectations. She joined the company in 2020, coming from Health Business Systems where she spent nearly 27 years moving up in roles of increasing responsibility. Starting with Health Business Systems as a Sr. Software Support Specialist, Diane held key roles in implementations, project management, account services, software development and operations. Diane attended Bucks County Community College in Newtown PA.

Katie Lettau

VP, Marketing

Katie Lettau leads the Marketing team, taking the HealthDyne story to the marketplace, including value proposition, sales collateral and lead generation activities. Since joining the company, she played a key role in the company’s rebranding, managing strategic client deliverables and client communications. Prior to joining the company, Katie was Sr. Marketing Manager at CastiaRx, steering marketing activities through multiple corporate acquisitions and subsequent rebranding. She held previous roles at Dohmen Life Science Services, where she developed and implemented client-focused communications and product campaigns for pharma manufacturers working to bring new drugs to market. Katie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with a minor in Business.

That’s what “dyne” is all about. Rooted in history, dyne originated from the Greek word for power: dýnamis. Dyne is a measurement of the unit of force needed to produce acceleration.
